Individual product ingredients

Rooibos

Also known as red bush is an indigenous plant of the Cape coastal mountains South Africa. It is still harvested by hand and pured naturally in the sun. Known for its unique health benefits, Rooibos contains a variety of antioxidant properties, some of which are entirely exclusive to redbush. Vitamin C, zinc, manganese, alpha hydroxy (great for skin), magnesium, copper, iron, potassium and calcium are just some of the naturalminerals which make Rooibos so beneficial to wellbeing. The flavanoid asphalatin (potent antioxidant within the Rooibos tea) is well known to fight aging as well as being very soothing to skin and therefore an ideal ingredient for use across our Organic at Heart range.

Frankincense

Tapped from the very scraggly bowelled tree by slashing through the bark and allowing the exuded resin to bleed out and harden. Frankincense oil has been used by many ancient cultures for its intense healing properties as well as for religious traditions. Containing vitamins A E and F it is particularly helpful in soothing and rejuvenating dry, damaged and slackened skin. It has a very high percentage of unsaponifiables which means unlike many other oils it can penetrate the skin easily and deeply where it can work effectively without clogging the pores on the skin surface. Shea butter has been clinically shown to help with lines, blemishes, wrinkles, discolourations. Fantastic for stretch marks because it helps restore skin elasticity. It also contains its own natural sunscreen although the SPF level varies between matches (and therefore should not be used alone as sunscreen)
